Here it is folks; the last ever Bugatti Chiron variant. Since the initial Chiron launch way back in 2016, the French hypercar powerhouse has been releasing new versions of the benchmark, 1500hp W16 engined car, seemingly every year. It all started with the base Chiron, which we all thought was simply ridiculous as is, however Bugatti introduced the more track-orientated Chiron Sport shortly after. Then came the Chiron Sport 110 Ans, celebrating 110 years of Bugatti. And then Bugatti broke the record books with the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, being the fastest production car in the world. They also produced the Noire, Pur Sport, Les Légendes du Ciel, Super Sport and now finally, the Profilée.
The Profilée is essentially all of the best parts from the simplistic and curvy design of most Chirons, with the track ability and core of the Pur Sport, all crammed into a one-off, blue beast. Although similar with all Chirons, the Profilée has its own unique design characteristics. A fixed tail is implemented into the rear of the car, replacing the Pur Sport's enormous wing, and is good for numerous reasons. The tail produces downforce to ensure the Profilée is able to stick to the ground at its blistering top speed, and is also useful in reducing hot air temperatures from the engine compartment. The Profilée takes inspiration from the Type 46, in more ways than one. The name is taken from the early 1930s Bugatti, and the design and colour hue also pays homage to the stunning car. The front end of the new Profilée has also been redesigned, with an enlarged horseshoe grille and widened air inlets funneling more air into the radiators. Even with the absense of the radical aerodynamics of the Pur Sport, the Profilée still produces 80% of the previous downforce. That's a lot, and it seems that minimum performance was sacrificed in preference of a sleeker and classier design.
The Profilée is powered by the same 1500hp Bugatti W16 engine, but has 15% shorter transmission ratios than the Chiron Sport. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 2.3 seconds, and continues to 200km/h after 5.5 seconds. It has an incredible top speed of 380km/h; 30kmh faster than the Pur Sport.
The exterior colour palette of the Profilée is hues of blue, with Argent Atlantique body as the primary tone. The colour was developed exclusively for this car, and is partnered with exposed blue carbon in the lower sections. Keeping the same flow throughout the car, Bugatti has used simplistic blue and grey leather to clad the familiar Chiron interior.
Being a one-off, the clientele of Bugatti that asked for the Profilée will struggle to actually own it. However, the car will go on auction through RM Sotherby's, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting charities.
