LONDON’S CALLING: A Day Of Car-Spotting In England’s Capital
For years, I had dreamt of spending my days wandering around the upper-class inner-city suburbs of London, clad in a warm coat and on the search for interesting vehicles. After countless hours spent watching ‘Best Supercar Spots In London’ videos on YouTube, I had finally made this dream a reality.
As I stepped off the front steps of our accommodation in the borough of Marlyebone and into the brisk air of the British winter, a sense of amazement overwhelmed me as I attempted to grow accustomed to the picturesque streets and noise that signified the famed city. Whilst the past three days had been about sightseeing; Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Oxford Street, today was all about cars, much to the opposition of my family.
Despite it’s size, London can certainly be tackled by foot. Today’s goal was to make it to the iconic Mayfair and surrounds, where supercar spotting is almost guarrenteed to be incredibly exciting. A short 10 minute walk from our hotel, we hastily made our way into the heart of Mayfair, and were instantly met with a bright orange Lamborghini Aventador Roadster. An interesting spec to say the least, however the presence of such a car was brutally complemented by the picturesque city streets.
During our adventures, we came across everything from modified RWB Porsche 911’s to a Ferrari Purosangue - the first we had ever come across. Whilst during the day there was nothing unbelievable that we had spotted, the setting made for some incredible photographs.

After we had spent some time continuing with sight seeing, we soon made our way through Mayfair again on our way to Hyde Park, this time under nightfall. Whilst we did not have our camera with us this time, this is when the big shot cars started to come out from hibernation.
As we stumbled into the picturesque Berkeley Square, where the local Ferrari, Bugatti and Bentley dealerships are located, we were greeted by a casual Ford GT making its way through peak hour traffic. We had never laid eyes on one of these before, so seeing one in such a setting was a truly special experience. In said Bugatti dealership, if you peek your eyes into the glass logo embedded into the frosted door, you’ll spy a silver Bugatti Veyron - pretty nuts!
Whilst we had to settle with some phone shots this night, seeing some truly incredible cars manoeuvre through London traffic was an incredible experience. Some notable spots we came across was a matte black Aventador SV parked in a ominously-dark alleyway, the satin white Lamborghini Revuelto; also being the first we had ever seen, and the Lewis Hamilton Merc F1 car in the window of an office building.
London is a car-spotter’s heaven. With walkable streets and photogenic backdrops on every corner, the region is perfect for anyone wanting to engage in casual photography and test out their skills whilst being on the hunt for exclusive cars.
